The Tahr is made from a three-layer AEGIS®  fabric which is soft, light, very quiet and of course very waterproof.

Features include a radical new upper body design that gives an amazing 25% extra freedom of movement, a large bino pocket with elasticated bullet loops plus side vents for extra climbing movement. The hood protrudes into an adjustable peak, stiffened with both a durable liner and a hood wire to enable excellent peripheral vision and exceptional water shedding capability.

I have lived in the Thar
My Thar was obtained in 2009. It has been to S/E Alaska 4 times. Two canoe , a back pack and a boat hunt(s). Rain and snow and snow and rain, wet. During a 5 day Alpine hunt the Thar only was off when I was in the sack. The Thar dried / drained when out of the rain. This Thar has been used in Idaho as my must carry outer garment for wind and wet protection. The hood allows adjustment for a balance of protection and visibility. The bullet loops give a quick 2 shot reload. My wife likes the "Mid evil" look. I like dry and warm.

  A garment that lasts....
I bought my Thar Anorak in 2000 and its still going strong, other than the small rips I have put in it...there.no other jacket like it ,and it's quiet for stalking too because of the soft texture on the material used.

  Brilliant!
I bought this having had only very wet experiences with the similar looking but far inferior ridgeline counterpart, what an awesome piece of kit, I thought I would cook in it, but it's so breathable, and yet warm, a joy to wear from the word go, if there were 6 stars available it would get them all.

Perfect for stalking in the Scottish Highlands
I have used my Swazi Tahr Anorak almost on a daily basis since purchasing the garment in august last year. It has performed like no other Anorak I have ever used. The waterproof qualities are unbeleavable even when crawling in wet peat in on the wettest days in north west sutherland it will keep you dry and warm. I suggest that you wear the Swazi base layers and a micro fleece below and you will be ready for all that mother nature can throw down in liquid form. You need look no further for a durable waterproof Anorak than on this page.

possibly the best rain gear in the world
I live on the west coast of Canada and have hunted British Columbia for over 40 years in the wetest and in some of the remotest parts of the planet. There are many rain gear companies here in B.C.. After trying what I thought were the best I bought the Swazi Tahr and I will say it is the best rain jacket I have ever owned. Period. David Jaye

  I love my Tahr
I have had my Tahr Anorak for about 4 years now, it's never let me down once. easy to clean and take care of, fantastically waterproof, and above all very quiet and comfortable. I'm pretty sure my one being nearly 5 years old is the old gore-tex material so the new ones might be even better.

  Best wind/waterproof garment ever owned!
I'm a gamekeeper at the foot of the Yorkshire wolds & bought the Thar to keep me warm on my quad bike when feeding up! I am delighted with the anorak which has transformed my early morning outings in any weather! I was so pleased that I have since bought a base and mid layer Swazi! Fantastic product

  You only need a Tahr
Unlike other jackets I have owned the Tahr Anorak doesn't leak and keeps rain, snow and wind at bay. Tough when crawling through scrub and at hit with the ladies at the pub. You only need to buy one jacket for the rest of your life, make sure its this one.
