Working with Wellington Free Ambulance to find the best possible solutions for their staff uniforms required the team at Swazi to be innovative in their thinking. When outfitting staff who work outside in inclement and often treacherous conditions there is also safety, comfort and their ability to complete given tasks to think about.
Not long after Swazi was selected to manufacture these uniforms the design team realised that the designs they were given would in their opinion not be suitable to the conditions WFA staff were working in.
The Swazi design team then immersed themselves in researching functional patterns and fabrics and presented their findings to WFA.
As a result of this research, as well as working in close with WFA, Swazi became the designers as well as manufactures for the staff uniforms.
Swazi created samples that were trialed in the field for three months and throughout this trial period they received constant feedback from WFA which included only minor design changes.
Once the final designs were approved Swazi outfitted WFA staff in both Mid Layers and Wet Weather gear.
Swazi continues the contract with WFA to this day keeping a close relationship with the team.
