A very good coat but......
I will start by saying I use this for walking in the hills unlike 99.999% of people who buy it. Swazi do not market it as a coat designed for this.
This is a very good coat. It is well made. It's a good length giving great overlap with water proof trousers. The material is good. The coat is good at keeping the wind and rain at bay. It is also surprisingly light.
The zip is sensibly big so that you can hold it and close it with cold hands. There is a very good flap that closes over the zip to keep the elements out. There are also stud fasteners down the front to keep the coat closed in the worst of weathers.
The coat has good size velcro strips in front of your chin and mouth to keep the this area closed plus the zip and over lapping flap. I feel a stud fastening here at the top would be beneficial in very windy conditions. Probably only necessary on the heights in very windy weather but that's my observation. The side pockets are a good size but the flaps on the pockets need to be redesigned. The flaps have one deep side with a stud fastening tapering to a shallow side that is sewn directly to the coat. It is not that good at keeping the rain out in bad conditions. The pockets need a deep flap with stud fasteners on both sides. The current flap with the side sewn directly to the coat will over time put a strain on the stitching especially if you put your hat in and take it out a couple of times depending on the weather. A deep flap with stud fasteners with get rid of this…

Torrent Jacket
Great Jackets this is the third one I have bought over the years. Love how light they are to wear, and are great in the West Coast rain.

Solid Gear
It’s the Buisiness!
Had to do a mad dash at 2:30 in the morning to the car park to get out. Was worried about land slides in the area I was in.
Rain was pouring done since 9:30 pm and made call to get out.
Jacket held out rain and wind no problem.
Highly recommend!

Great jackef for the price point
It's a really nice jacket. Lightweight, like the double storm flap feature and wire in the hood to keep it up off your face.
Two things I miss on this jacket - a waist drawstring and double pockets below the waist (extra set that you can access from the side behind the main pockets).
You get a lot of features for the price which makes it a nice, viable option for those who can't shell out big bucks on some other leading jackets like the hydrophobia.
